MAGICAL THINKING OR

DELUSIONAL WISHING?

"Magic is the extraordinary reality that dwells within every aspect of the mundane, material world." From Healing Magic by Robin Rose Bennett

Magical Thinking is an all-too-common buzzword these days, mistaking "the belief that events or the behavior of others can be influenced by one’s thoughts, wishes, or ritual", instead of being just one of the many aspects of Magical Action.

Join me and Pam Grossman (of Phantasmaphile and the

Witch Wave Podcast) on IG Live and weigh in on this hot topic of of delusional thinking vs. mental focus!

AN APPRENTICESHIP IN HERBAL MEDICINE AND EARTH RITUALS

FREE INTRO JANUARY 26 AT 7PM EST

Have questions about my new online apprenticeship program? Come to the free class on January 26 and get a taste of what's in store!

From the official web page: This is deep training, an apprenticeship in attuning to the spirit of nature, and thus, to your authentic Self with the help of common plants. We will learn effective remedies for familiar complaints ranging from belly aches to anxiety and Robin Rose Bennett will share favorite recipes that feature commonly available herbs.

The primary aim and focus of this training are to help us restore our kinship with the Earth with the help of herbal medicine and simple yet profound rituals. We will experience the phases of the moon and their importance and effect on us and the plants, as we all move from the dark of winter into the light of spring. We will cultivate the health of our whole selves- mind, body, heart, and soul. This work is essential as we are living in evolutionary times. Healing ourselves leads to healing our families and communities, and to the possibility of healing our world.

A simple practice to connect with Moon Magic: HOWLING LIKE A WOLF OR COYOTE

Go outside or lean out your window and

howl at the full moon. It's primal and fun. You're likely to be joined by the dogs in your neighborhood unless your neighborhood includes coyotes or wolves - then they're likely to howl with you, too.

Thank you for making it all the way to end of the newsletter.

As a treat, here's a short video and recipe on White Pine Oxymel!

White Pine Oxymel How To with Robin Rose Bennett

WHITE PINE OXYMEL DIRECTIONS:

CUT 1 ½ cups of fresh white pine needles into 1/4 or 1/2 inch pieces (or ¾ cup dried white pine needles)

Fill a pint-sized clean glass jar with them.

Fill to the top with local honey and STIR WELL.

Label your jar with the contents and the date.

Shake the jar daily (optional).

You can decant it in 4-6 weeks and use it freely in your cooking.
