Warrior Heart Poke Plant

This is a gift from the heart of the plant and from the heart of another awesome apprentice, Victoria,

Victoria was chopping up roots from intense Native American warrior plant "poke" (Phytolacca americana) to make a tincture. When it's ready in a couple of months this tincture will be a stimulant for the lymph system that can be used when certain types of challenging infections are present. Poke's medicine is so strong that it is used in tiny doses, starting with one drop of tincture per cup of herbal infusion, often mixed with another root tincture, such as echinacea or burdock.

When she saw the physical, symbolic representation of the truth that the plants heal as much (if not more) through their generous love as through their chemical constituents, she decided to gift me with this photo and I thought I'd share the love. Strength and sweetness are not mutually exclusive!

Who could ask for a sweeter gift than this??
