Seaweeds, Herbs, and Foods to help with Radiation Exposure
I've had some personal experience with healing from radiation exposure. I used seaweed, herbs and foods to bring my cat and myself back from severe, life threatening illness that I believe we contracted while living almost on top of the Indian Point nuclear power plant in NY 15 years ago. The seaweeds kelp and dulse played a big part in our healing, as did miso paste. I also craved sunflower seeds and ate them copiously, ground up and added to anything, and as sunflower seed butter (not opting for organic because the cost was prohibitive). Later I found out that sunflower plants absorb radiation from soil (documented by the nuclear regulatory agency) and wrote about it in my book Healing Magic. In May Bethel's Natural Healing with Foods, she writes, “Russian scientists have found that sunflower seed pectin offers a great protection against deposition of strontium 90 in the bones. They have the effect of expelling radioactivity from the system.” This affirmed my body's impulse to heal itself with the seeds. Sea salt baths and baking soda baths are also helpful. Finally, I got guided in a very magical way (a story I’ve written up in my forthcoming book) to add barley to my healing diet, and aged barley miso is my favorite miso.
Green blessings to all of us
