Ix Chel, the Mayan Maiden-Mother-Crone Goddess

Hola!

The last leg of my sabbatical has begun, and I am now in the magical Mayan land of Tulum, Mexico, and about to start lessons in a Spanish immersion program.
The first goddess to call out to me in a dream was Ix Chel, the Mayan Maiden-Mother-Crone Goddess of women's mysteries. Twenty five years ago, I dreamt I was standing in a cave and shards of terracotta were being thrown past me, flying over my shoulders, and I was not allowed to turn around to see where they were landing. When I was told I could look, I turned around in time to see the shards piecing themselves together into the form of a powerful woman; I later learned she was the goddess Ix Chel. She told me I would help bring her back to life in Mexico.
