What Does Mama Earth Want? What do you, Gaia, need from me? Earth Mama, do our needs differ? I want to speak for you. I want to
write for you. I want to be immersed in you, continuing to learn your ways
subtle and obvious. I want to help waken others’ hearts to you — I want to be wrapped in your embrace and help others want to be kind to you, to each other, to themselves. So, dear Gaia — what of you? What do you want? Hello, I am Mother Earth. You may call me Gaia. I am a sensitive being. I am deeply alive and feeling and awake. There is no part of me that isn’t conscious to some degree. I am consciousness. I want you to awaken. That’s really all I want. Awaken to the gift of your consciousness, of your magic. Awaken. Awaken and you will feel again, as I do — grief and joy, sun and shadow, life and death - eternally transforming, changing, cycling. What do I want? I want you to tend to yourself in a healthy way. When you do that there is no separation between us. Love the children. Wake the children. Nourish and care for the children for me. I love you all so, especially though, I love the little ones, the wee 2-leggeds in their natural innocence — like the light beings that they are, and they are darkening with neglect of their true joy. Bring them home to me I will do the rest. I will awaken their joy and they will find their own ways home. I will love them back to health and true wealth, wealth of connection, wealth of sparkle, and deep restful shadows. Gaia, do you want me to stop the destruction? Can you? I don’t really know how. I need you to follow the joy way – as you do. There is no discrepancy between what you love and what serves me, make no mistake. But when you hurt over damage to me you must realize that you are hurting over damage to yourself. I am fine, really. Really? Even when they’re dumping, no, we’re dumping poisons in your rivers and cutting down all your trees so we can’t breathe? Tend to yourselves and you are tending to me. It isn’t mutually exclusive as long as you tend to yourselves wholly – materially, spiritedly, inside, outside, all of it. I am here to serve you and you are here to serve me. Let’s serve each other. Keep talking to those boys who cut my trees, who violated your space. Keep engaging them in love and friendship, they will hear you – don’t be afraid. I’m not afraid. I will rebirth and yes, not be as wildly free, but as if not more beautiful and generous as you learn new/ancient/brilliant/efficient/effective ways to harness my energy and to bring me back. Use the impulse to develop/to create/destroy/change to make the new gardens. I love you. Bless you my child! Be happy. Huh? I said, be happy. Do I not make you happy? You do. And yet, I quake and send tidal waves. Light and dark are all part of the dance. Be with it and you are as I am. We are one, and all life on me is part of my motherly embrace. Even those who hurt you? Of course. Are you saying I should love and embrace those who hurt me without protecting myself? Yes and No. Yes to the first part, no to the second part. Gaia, what do you want? More singing, more sleeping on me, more loving of trees and birds and animals – And mostly, mostly mostly I want you to love one another as I love you all. Love yourself and you will serve me best, for you’ll follow your path with less hesitation. Love your questions as I do – and know I, Earth, feel gratitude for you, for your loving concern. I hold you in my blue-green arms, mountains, valleys, rivers, and seas. Wherever you walk, we are together and as that feeds your joy and growth, I am fulfilled. Bless you, child.
