Healing Spices – Herbal
Medicine in your Spice Rack
Monday October 26
7-9 PM
West Milford, NJ
$39.00 includes all materials
When
properly prepared, some of our favorite “seasonings” are actually profound
herbal medicines. Join herbalist Robin Rose Bennett as we go beyond the delight
of aromatic and spicy flavors into the exciting and beneficial world of herbal
medicine. Did you know, for example, that in addition to tasting delectable in
pesto Basil is an effective anti-depressant, that Ginger not only spices up your
favorite stir-fry, but relieves lower back pain when used as a bath, and that
Rosemary tea really does improve your memory? We’ll explore the medicinal
attributes and gifts of hot spicy herbs such as: ginger, cayenne, garlic, black
pepper, mustard, and horseradish and take a sensual medicine tour of aromatic
herbs like sage, rosemary, marjoram, basil, lavender, and thyme. You’ll get to
look at, touch, smell, and taste numerous herbs. Herbs are truly “the people’s
medicine” and this course is likely to bring out the herbalist in you. Class fee
includes all materials
